I am a science and environmental journalist from Medellin, Colombia. I moved to Reno, Nevada, United States, to pursue my graduate education and finished my studies with an MA in Media Innovation in 2023. My emphasis is science communication, environmental reporting, and women’s rights in the context of science and climate change. I am passionate about finding ways to demystify the complexity of these matters by exploring engaging ways to communicate them.
In Colombia, I worked for over two years for the national Newspaper El Colombiano, where I was the journalist in charge of the science beat. I have a BA in Social Communications and Journalism from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, in Colombia, and a diploma in Environmental Reporting from the Universities Eafit, de Antioquia, and Nacional de Colombia. In 2022, I received the first runner-up award in the Aqualia Journalism Award for an article on water-related issues.
My professional goal is to create a platform to help communities share their climate and science-related stories with the world, in engaging ways and through multimedia formats. My personal goal is to see the world. I aim to mix both goals.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy dancing to Latin genres, playing underwater rugby, and traveling.

I have participated in four programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and Education USA, including the Community College Initiative Program, Opportunity Funds, and Youth Leadership Program. I co-founded a volunteer group called CCI Colombian Alumni and actively participated in cultural and community exchanges.
